Air Intake Systems and Filters: Your stock air intake was not designed with making maxium power in mind. The pipes are usually plastic and have bends that restrict flow. One of the easiest upgrades you can do for your Lancer Evolution 8 is to upgrade your factory air intake and air filter. Intake systems also tend to make the turbo spool a bit faster and your turbo will be a bit louder.
We carry Evo intakes by APS, ARC, AEM, HKS, Injen, Cusco, K&N, Perrin and Turbo XS. These systems were all designed to make more power with smoother bends and breathe easier with high flow air filters. Most of these intakes can be installed with simple hand tools in a few hours.
Short ram intakes replace the factory piping with a larger pipe with smoother bends, while cold air intakes try to relocate the air filter to another area under the hood away from the heat of the engine.
